Hyderabad: Woman commits suicide after killing two daughters | Live Newspaper Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: A mother killed her two daughters before she committed suicide in Choutuppal on Thursday. Her third daughter,3, had a lucky escape. Husband’s alleged harassment could be the motive behind her extreme step.
Police said that T Umarani,32, and her daughter Harshini,12, and Lasya,8, died whereas Shainy,3, was rescued by the locals.
Umarani used two different sarees to execute her plan. Both the sarees were inserted through two different fan hooks. Harshini and Lasya were found tied to two ends of a saree, which was hanging from the ceiling. Similarly, the other saree tied to another hook, Umarani was found hanging to one end and Shainy to the other end.
Shainy was alive but struggling for her life by taking support of a loft. On hearing her loud cry, some locals came to their house.
Realising that she is struggling for her life, they went on top of the roof and broke the asbestos sheet and saved Shainy. By this time the remaining three persons died. Umarani’s husband Venkatesh, a labour, was sleeping outside their house, when the suicide pact took place.
Police suspect that since Venkatesh used to allegedly harass Umarani by coming in drunken condition, Umarani might have taken the extreme step by first killing her daughters and then she herself taking the extreme suicide.

Latest News Today – 2 Pak Terrorists Shot Dead In J&K Encounter; 2 Soldiers

Two Pakistani terrorists were shot dead by Indian soldiers in an encounter (File)

Two Pakistani terrorists were shot dead in an encounter along the Line of Control, a defence spokesperson in Jammu and Kashmir said. Two Indian soldiers were killed in action, the spokesperson said.

This was the second encounter along the Line of Control or LoC in as many days. The ceasefire along the LoC is seen to be on weak ground now. The encounters and intensive search operations by Indian soldiers come less than a month after a drone attack at an Indian Air Force base in Jammu region by Pakistan-based terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba.

“Based on information about infiltration and movement of terrorists in Dadal, Sundarbani sector, Rajouri district, the army had launched extensive search operations on Jun 29,” the defence spokesperson said. “Subsequently, the information was corroborated on July 8 and a search and destroy patrol seeking proactive engagement with the terrorists, spotted them at Dadal forest and challenged them,” he said.

“The terrorists opened fire and lobbed hand grenades, leading to a fierce encounter in which two foreign terrorists from Pakistan have been killed. In the operation, two jawans received fatal injuries. A detailed search of the area continues,” he said.

In the other encounter yesterday, a Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist, Mehrazuddin Halwai, who was known to use social media to find recruits, was shot dead by the security forces.

The army has been hitting hard terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir and along the LoC and has stepped up seek and destroy missions, especially after the recent drone attack. The technology used in the drone strikes on the air force base indicated “state-support” and involvement of Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba, Lt General DP Pandey, Corps Commander of the 15 Corps in Srinagar, told NDTV on June 30.

General Pandey had said the army is “well aware these assets and tech – like drones and drone warfare – are state-supported systems” and that such threats may continue and even increase.

Use Extra Coffee Filters to Replace Paper Towels and Tea | Sidnaz Blog

Paper coffee filters are exclusively sold in packs by the thousand for less than $2. This is a universal fact.

So what do you do when you give up coffee, or buy a new coffee maker that doesn’t require paper filters?

Glad you asked. The video above demonstrates many more uses for those curly doilies. Since they’re heat proof, and designed to remove even the smallest bits of residue for liquid, you can use them to strain items through tea, soup, and even wine.

They also make a great substitute for paper towels, rags, or more expensive microfiber pads. Plus, their porousness allows for air to flow through them, which means they can be used to absorb odors by filling with baking soda, without letting powder seep through.

Hyderabad: Software engineer duped of Rs 13 lakh | Hyderabad | Live Newspaper Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: Cyber fraudsters duped a 57-year-old unemployed software engineer of Rs 13 lakh by promising to provide him a job in the United Kingdom.
According to police, the victim, Venkata Murali Manohar, hailing from Yousufguda, lost his job after his company shut the shop in 2020.
Manohar uploaded his resume on various job portals and recently received a phone call from a fraudster posing as job consultant looking to recruit for a UK-based real estate company, Golden Properties, Cyber crime ACP KVM Prasad said.
By offering a job in the sales department of the company with handsome salary, the fraudster convinced Manohar to transfer Rs 13 lakh on various pretexts.
“The fraudsters sent a fake job offer letter and made Manohar transfer Rs 13 lakh to various bank accounts for consultancy fee, commission for finding job and visa processing fee,” the ACP said.
As the accused kept asking for more money, Manohar realised that he was duped and lodged a complaint with Cyber crime police on Wednesday.
“The details of the final transactions were sent to the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal and by contacting the banks, we managed to stop withdrawal of about Rs 3 lakh,” the ACP said.
Police registered case under relevant sections of the IPC and the IT Act.

Latest News Today – Cabinet Approves Rs 23,123 Crore Covid Response Package

Union Cabinet has approved a new Covid response package

The Union Cabinet, which had its first meeting on Thursday after it was revamped yesterday with the induction of 43 ministers, approved a new scheme titled “India COVID-19 Emergency Response & Health System Preparedness Package: Phase-II” worth Rs 23,123 crore for 2021-22, a move which has come amid the growing possibilities of a third wave hitting the country by August.

It is aimed at accelerating health system preparedness for immediate responsiveness towards early prevention, detection and management of the pandemic.

This is the first major decision taken by the newly reshuffled Union Cabinet, which also includes a new Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya.

Mr Mandaviya, who replaced Mr Harshvardhan, said that under the new package, the Centre would provide Rs 15,000 crore and states Rs 8,000 crore and the plan would be implemented jointly by them across all the 736 districts of the country to improve medical infrastructure at primary and district health centres.

He was speaking to media persons after the cabinet meeting.

Around 2.4 lakh normal medical beds and 20,000 ICU beds would be created of which 20 percent would be specially earmarked for children, he said.

The health minister further said that storage facilities for oxygen and medicines would also be created at district level under the plan.

The plan aims to accelerate health system preparedness for immediate responsiveness for early prevention, detection and management of Coronavirus pandemic with the focus on infrastructure development including for paediatric care and with measurable outcomes, he said.

Mr Mandaviya informed that this is the second phase of the Emergency Response and Health System Preparedness Package as the Central government had given Rs 15,000 crore earlier for setting up Covid-dedicated hospitals and health centres across the country.

Latest News Today – Rs 23,123 Crore Covid Fund Announced After First Meet Of

PM Modi’s government has faced sharp criticism for its handling of the coronavirus pandemic.

New Delhi:

A new emergency response package worth Rs 23,123 crore to tackle the coronavirus pandemic was announced by the central government on Thursday, following the first meeting of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s revamped cabinet on Thursday.

The announcement outlined the priority for PM Modi who appointed new ministers for health, IT and oil as part of a reshuffle a day ago in a bid to reinvigorate his government amid fierce criticism of its handling of the coronavirus pandemic, the economy and other quarters.

The package will help set up paediatrics departments in 736 districts, 20,000 new ICU beds and acquire buffer stocks of medicines, new health minister Mansukh Mandaviya said.

Out of the 23,000 crore, around Rs 15,000 crore will be spent by the centre and Rs 8,000 crore will be allocated to states, he said, adding the plans will be implemented in the next nine months.

Mr Mandaviya was appointed on Wednesday just hours after Harsh Vardhan, who was the face of the government’s efforts to fight COVID-19, was asked to step down along with his deputy.

Official sources said Mr Vardhan had to pay the political price for the government’s struggles to cope with a devastating second wave of coronavirus infections.

PM Modi’s government has faced sharp criticism for the chaotic rollout of a nationwide immunisation campaign that experts say had worsened the impact of the second wave, killing hundreds of thousands.

The official count of deaths after a surge in COVID-19 infections in April and May passed 4 lakh last week. Experts believe the actual number may be much higher and there are fears of a third wave soon. Millions remain unvaccinated.

Several members of the ruling BJP and a few from allies were sworn in at the Rashtrapati Bhavan to replace 12 ministers that were fired in the first cabinet reshuffle since PM Modi was re-elected in 2019 on a promise to transform India into a political and economic power.

Opposition leader P Chidambaram said the removal of the health minister and his deputy was an acknowledgement that the Modi government had failed in managing the pandemic but the buck should stop with PM Modi.

“There is a lesson for ministers in these resignations. If things go right the credit will go to the PM, if things go wrong the minister will be the fall guy,” he said.

PM Modi retained his core team at the foreign, finance, home and defence departments even though the economy is in a deep recession and there are widespread concerns that a surge in COVID-19 infections will stall economic recovery.

The reshuffle also came after the defeat of the BJP in April elections in key West Bengal and ahead of another major test of PM Modi’s popularity in state elections in Uttar Pradesh, Goa, Manipur, Punjab and Uttarakhand in February and March next year, which may prove to be a bellwether for his party in 2024 national elections.

Earlier in the evening, PM Modi held a virtual meeting of the new cabinet that now includes 30 ministers while the council includes 77 in all.
