Sri Lanka defeated India by three wickets (DLS method) in a run-chase of 227 runs in the third ODI at Colombo on Friday. Avishka Fernando was the player of the match and was also the top scorer for Sri Lanka with his 72 runs, he was well supported by Bhanuka Rajapaksa who stood with him for a partnership of 109 runs for the second wicket. Indian batsmen could not convert their starts while batting first in the final ODI and the visitors were all-out for just 225 runs in 43.1 overs. The pitch had helped spinners a lot, with Akila Dananjaya and Praveen Jayawickrama bagging three wickets apiece. For India, Rahul Chahar was the star performer with his 3 wickets on ODI debut, while fellow debutant Chetan Sakariya picked up two wickets as well.
