HYDERABAD: The Congress has demanded that chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao release the district-wise data of unemployed candidates in Telangana.
The unemployment rate has doubled since 2014. As per the latest figures, 19,43,783 qualified youth have registered themselves with the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) alone. This does not include lakhs of people who lost their jobs during the lockdown, said Telangana president N Uttam Kumar Reddy.
Addressing the meeting with states heads of party’s frontal organisations, Uttam directed them to activate the cadre at all levels in the two graduate MLC seats spread in 70-odd assembly constituencies and ensure the victory of Congress candidates Ramulu Naik from Nalgonda-Warangal-Khammam and G Chinna Reddy from Hyderabad-Ranga Reddy-Mahbubnagar.
KCR has not implemented his poll promise of giving Rs 3,016 per month unemployment allowance to jobless youth. Municipal minister K T Rama Rao should prevail upon KCR to release jobless data and guidelines to dole out allowance, he said.
The BJP government is taking away lakhs of jobs of SCs, STs and BCs in reserved quota from the public sector companies by selling them to corporates,” Uttam alleged.
“BJP is trying to gain political strength by inciting hatred in the name of religion. BJP talks about Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, but it is silent on the Ram Mandir in Bhadrachalam,” Uttam said.
Stating that the graph of the ruling TRS was going down at a much faster rate than expected, Uttam termed the recent performance of BJP as a water bubble and appealed to the cadre, unemployed youth, teachers, government employees. advocates and other graduates to vote for Congress candidates and teach a lesson to TRS and BJP.
