Asaduddin Owaisi: Will BJP deny tickets to MLAs with more | Live Newspaper Hyderabad

[ad_1]

HYDERABAD: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi on Saturday claimed that there were 150 MLAs in Uttar Pradesh who have more than two children. He challenged UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath to state clearly if BJP will deny tickets to such legislators in ensuing polls to t state assembly.
Speaking to reporters, Owaisi demanded the Centre launch an inquiry into the Pegasus or at least allow a debate in Parliament over the issue. “When inquiries are being done on the Pegasus-phone hacking issue in Israel and France, why is the Modi-government scared to even constitute a commission to inquire into it?” Owaisi questioned.
The AIMIM president also lashed out at PM Narendra Modi for his perceived silence on the issue of “China sitting in Indian territory.” “Why doesn’t the Modi government lead a delegation of MPs and journalists to Depsang, Gogra, Hot Spring and Demchok to show that these are still under control. But the reality is that the Chinese soldiers continue to be in control of our territory…,” Owaisi alleged.
The AIMIM president also lambasted the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh and Centre for allegedly neglecting the health sector.
“There are four lakh acutely malnourished children in UP, severe shortage of doctors and specialists in public, community health centres and sub-centres. The Modi-government had filed an affidavit in Supreme Court in 2020 stating international experience shows that any coercion to have a certain number of children is counter productive and leads to demographic distortions,” he said.
Owaisi also demanded the Centre give jobs to crores who lost jobs due to the alleged mismanagement of the second wave of Covid-19.

Owaisi’s AIMIM gearing for the big fight in Uttar Pradesh | | Sidnaz Blog

[ad_1]

HYDERABAD: While the party could not make an impact in the recently-concluded West Bengal elections, the efforts of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) to extend its footprint across India is receiving good response, especially in Uttar Pradesh, party leaders claimed.
Three to four candidates from each assembly constituency are seeking to contest elections on its ticket in the ensuing elections to Uttar Pradesh state assembly.

Men and women from minorities, SC, ST, BC and Yadav communities are mainly seeking to contest on a AIMIM ticket.
Owaisi has already announced that AIMIM will contest 100 of the total 403 assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh. However, the alliance partners will sit together and finalise the seats to be contested by each ally. AIMIM is part of the alliance of Bhagedari Sankalp Morcha—led by former minister Om Prakash Rajbhar. This morcha comprises nine various smaller parties. Elections are due to UP state Assembly in February 2022.
Uttar Pradesh AIMIM state president Shaukath Ali confirmed to TOI that the applications from aspirants from more than 100 constituencies in UP have been submitted so far. Even women are coming forward to contest on AIMIM ticket.
“We are asking them to continue their work in their respective constituencies. The party will conduct a survey and finalise the candidates with clean image, good work history and winning prospects,” he said.
On the possibility of poll alliances, he said Congress is a sinking ship and no one wants to sail with it in UP elections. Even the once-strong Left scored a duck in West Bengal by going along with the Congress.
On BSP chief Mayawati ruling out any alliance with AIMIM, Shaukath Ali said smaller parties have vote bank in UP. If Samajwadi Party (SP) or Bahujan Samajwadi Party (BSP) are really serious about defeating the BJP, then either one of them or both the parties should come forward for an alliance with smaller parties like Bhagedari Sankalp Morcha.
Without the support of smaller parties, both SP-BSP alliance could not defeat BJP in 2019 Lok Sabha elections. The SP-Congress alliance too failed to defeat BJP in 2017 polls, he added.

Lockdown extended in Telangana up to June 9; relaxation from | Live Newspaper Hyderabad

[ad_1]

HYDERABAD: The state cabinet chaired by chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Sunday decided to extend the lockdown in Telangana for another 10-days, from May 31 to to June 9.
The cabinet also decided to increase the relaxation window from 6am to 1pm. Earlier, this window was only for four hours between 6am and 10am. This was done following representations from almost all the sectors and sections of society to increase the relaxation window as only a four hour duration was resulting in the people crowding the markets without maintaining the crucial social distance Covid-19 guideline.

For those who go out to purchase groceries and finish off their work by 1pm, a grace period of one hour i.e. up to 2pm would be given. But the lock down would be strictly implemented from 2pm to 6am the next day, the Cabinet decided.
Municipal minister KT Rama Rao tweeted that the cabinet meeting also consented for limited revival of economic activity. The guidelines will be issued soon. Students going overseas for higher education will be given vaccination on priority so they can travel safely.
KTR stated that the cabinet has resolved to establish seven medical colleges at Mahbubabad, Sangareddy, Jagtial, Nagar Kurnool, Wanaparthy, Kothagudem and Mancherial. Prior to the formation of Telangana state, only four government medical colleges were there in the undivided state. From 2014 to 2018, CM KCR has established five and now seven more to come up, he added.

Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi-led party has fielded seven candidates in Jadcherla and four in Siddipet municipalities

HYDERABAD: After staying away from Graduate MLC polls held recently, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) will contest the municipal elections scheduled to be held on April 30.
However, AIMIM is contesting only from Jadcherla and Siddipet municipalities and the by-poll to 28th ward in Jalpally municipality. The party is likely to win the 28th ward by-poll unanimously as no other party has fielded candidates on request of the family members of deceased ward member, whose death necessitated the by-election.
Elections are being held to municipal corporations of Greater Warangal and Khammam, five municipalities of Jadcherla, Siddipet, Nakrekal, Atchampet and Kothur and nine other municipal wards in other civic bodies.
Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi-led party has fielded seven candidates in Jadcherla and four in Siddipet municipalities. Though AIMIM is a friendly party of the ruling TRS, the candidates of both the parties are in electoral fray against each other in several wards.
This is not the first time that TRS-MIM are locking horns in an electoral battle despite being friendly parties. Both the parties fiercely contested GHMC election against one another in the Old City, a stronghold of AIMIM. Congress, BJP, CPI, CPM, All India Forward Bloc and independents are among the other parties in fray from Jadcherla and Siddipet municipalities.
AIMIM general secretary and MLA Ahmed Pasha Quadri said the party had won a couple of wards in Jadcherla in the past when Sultan Salahuddin Owaisi was party president. There is a sizable population of SCs, STs, BCs and Muslims in the two municipalities.
“Our candidates have the potential to win as they have been working in the field to solve the problems of the people,” he said.

HYDERABAD: While BJP’s efforts to make the Lingojiguda ward by-poll unanimous in its favour have failed with Congress and Independents entering the fray, it is going to be an unanimous election in the by-poll to four other wards in various municipal bodies.
The 28th ward in Jalpally civic body has gone in favour of AIMIM, 5th ward in Alampur municipality in favour of ruling TRS, 8th ward in Metpally municipality in favour of an Independent candidate and 30th ward in Bellampally in favour of TRS.
On the request of the family members of the sitting ward members whose death necessitated the by-poll, candidates from other parties withdrew their nomination, facilitating unanimous election in four of nine wards. Telangana Congress election committee convenor G Niranjan told TOI that though Congress candidates filed nominations, they withdrew it on humanitarian grounds in the three wards. “We are contesting in the remaining six wards,” he said.

We will develop all the cities but not make them union territories, he added.

Asaduddin Owaisi said Mamata Banerjee’s allegation is baseless and she is restless”.

West Bengal:

“Never was a man born who can buy Asaduddin Owaisi with money,” the AIMIM chief said today, hitting back at Mamata Banerjee after the Bengal Chief Minister said the BJP is “spending crores of rupees to bring in a party from Hyderabad to divide Muslim votes”, in an apparent reference to Mr Owaisi’s party. The Lok Sabha MP said Muslim voters are not Ms Banerjee’s “jagir” or property.

“Never was a man born who can buy Asaduddin Owaisi with money. Her allegation is baseless and she is restless. She should worry about her own home, so many of her people are going to BJP. She has insulted the voters of Bihar and the people who voted for us,” the All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief said a day after Ms Banerjee’s attack.

Mr Owaisi’s party, after its good show in the Bihar assembly polls, has announced to contest in next year’s Bengal assembly election.

The AIMIM won five seats in the Muslim-dominated Seemanchal region in Bihar, bordering West Bengal.

“To divide the Muslim votes, the BJP is spending crores of rupees to bring in a party from Hyderabad. The plan is that BJP will eat into Hindu votes, and this Hyderabad party will eat into Muslim votes. In recent Bihar elections, they did the same thing. This party is a B-team of the BJP,” Ms Banerjee said at a rally in Jalpaiguri on Tuesday.

“So far you’ve only dealt with obedient Mir Jaffers and Sadiqs. You don’t like Muslims who think and speak for themselves. You’ve insulted our voters in Bihar. Remember what happened to parties in Bihar that kept blaming their failures on ‘vote cutters. Muslim voters aren’t your jagir,” Mr Owaisi tweeted, responding to the Trinamool chief’s remarks.

Newsbeep

When Mr Owaisi announced he would field candidates in Bengal next year, analysts said the move could divide the minority vote and hurt the Trinamool, which draws the Muslim vote almost en bloc.

A splintered minority vote would mean fewer votes for the Trinamool. Therefore, dismantling the AIMIM in Bengal and getting its members to join the Trinamool is a masterstroke, analysts said.

Bengal will vote for the 294-member assembly someone in April or May next year.
