Latest News Today – Battlegrounds Mobile India Receives Patch to Fix Issues

[ad_1]

Battlegrounds Mobile India — the local avatar of PUBG Mobile — received a client patch on Saturday to fix some of the known issues. The update fixes a bug that was causing the battle royale game to be stuck at the loading screen when the player is wearing Unicorn-set outfits. There is also a fix for the issue that was shutting down Battlegrounds Mobile India on some devices. Developer Krafton has released the patch just days after it reported the issues online. Some of the known problems are yet to be fixed, though.

Krafton provided release notes for the client patch through the Battlegrounds Mobile India site. As per the notes, the update fixes the problem that was keeping the game stuck at the loading screen when wearing Unicorn-set outfits. It was first reported last week.

The latest client patch also addresses the issue that was shutting down the game when accessing the Season (C1S1) menu on some devices. There is also a fix for the problem that was causing players to not get shot when riding a buggy vehicle in the Mission Ignition mode. Further, the patch fixes the issue that was reducing the sound coming from the Tesla vehicle of other players.

Battlegrounds Mobile India has received the patch through a server-side update. This means that you don’t need to download a new version from the Google Play store. However, the patch will be applied once you restart the game.

Although the latest patch addresses a number of known issues, there are still some that are yet to be fixed. For instance, Krafton has mentioned on its site that users are still not able to claim in-game currency UC in some cases and receive an error saying, “UC not being claimed intermittently after purchase.” It appears when the affected users try to purchase the UC from the game.

Some users are also not able to claim rewards from the Daily Special Bundle. Similarly, in some cases, the game moves to a wrong page when a user accesses Supply Medal claimed from Advanced Supplies Crate.

Krafton has advised all these users to reach out to the developer team by going through Settings > Basic > Customer Service from the game.

Battlegrounds Mobile India debuted earlier this month as the Indian version of PUBG Mobile and received its first content update last week. That update brought features including Mission Ignition mode and access to Tesla Gigafactory. However, it also introduced the issues that the company is fixing through its patches.

It is important to point out that Krafton has itself claimed that Battlegrounds Mobile India crossed the mark of over 34 million players in the first week of its launch. This suggests that the issues may have a large impact and thus requires speedy fixes.

Latest News Today – Microsoft’s PrintNightmare Fix Update Stops Some

[ad_1]

A fix for the PrintNightmare vulnerability might have disabled some printers on Windows. Microsoft issued security updated for Windows to fix a widely reportedly vulnerability called PrintNightmare that gave attackers control over a victim’s computer. This flaw allowed attackers to remotely execute malicious code with system privileges and install programs, make changes in the existing programs, and create new accounts with full user rights. After installing these updates, some users claim that the connection to their printer stopped working. Customers of Zebra printers have reportedly being calling customer care with complaints of not being able to print.

After updating with the security patch, which was rolled out for all major Windows versions ranging from Windows 7 to Windows 10, several users started to complain of not being able to connect their printers with their PCs. These updates were aimed to fix a remote code execution exploit in the Windows Print Spooler service, known as “PrintNightmare”.

However, several printer users, specifically Zebra printer users, started complaining of issues. A Reddit user explains, “We have about 1000 customers using Zebra printers and are getting flooded with calls from them not being able to print. This update is the culprit for sure as rolling it back has things spitting out again instantly.”

In a statement to The Verge, Zebra explains, “We are aware of a printing issue caused by the July 6 Windows “KB5004945“update affecting multiple brands of printers. Microsoft has investigated this issue and plans to release an update addressing the issue within the next 1–2 business days. An immediate way to address the issue is to uninstall the Windows “KB5004945“ update or uninstall the affected printer driver and reinstall using Administrative credentials. Long term, we encourage the use of the newer Windows update Microsoft is planning to release. Customers who need assistance regarding Zebra printers may contact our Technical Support Team.”

Of course, not all printer users have reported the issue and it is still recommended to update the fix as soon as possible. Microsoft released the patch for all existing Windows versions, hinting at the severity of the exploit.

Apple first started rolling out Safari 14.1 on April 26, to fix browser fixes security vulnerabilities in WebKit, but this reportedly caused several browsing issues in both Safari and other browsers. As a result, Apple then pulled the update on May 1, and has now started the rollout again, still under the version number 14.1.

Latest News Today – Google Chrome Receives Security Fix Update for Windows,

[ad_1]

Google has released a update for its Chrome browser on Windows, Mac, and Linux that brings a total of seven security fixes. The list of fixes include one for a zero-day vulnerability that was exploited in the wild. The updated Chrome browser will be rolled out over the coming days, Google said in an advisory. Users are recommended to install the update as early as it reaches their devices. The search giant also credited and rewarded external security researchers who reported the vulnerabilities.

The updated Chrome browser carries version 90.0.4430.85, according to the advisory released by Google through a blog post. The update is compatible with Windows, Mac, and Linux devices.

In terms of security fixes, Google has detailed five of the seven highly critical vulnerabilities that are addressed by the update. The first is recorded as CVE-2021-21222 that is a heap buffer overflow in the V8 JavaScript engine, while the second one is noted under CVE-2021-21223 and is an integer overflow in Mojo interface.

The third vulnerability that the updated Chrome browser brings is defined as CVE-2021-21224, and it’s a type confusion in the V8 engine. There are also the CVE-2021-21225 out-of-bounds memory access flaw in the V8 engine and the CVE-2021-21226 use-after-free in navigation.

Among the flaws that Google has fixed and detailed through its advisory, the CVE-2021-21224 was exploited in the wild. However, there aren’t any details whether the issue has affected any regular Chrome users. Information about the remaining security fixes was also not provided.
“Access to bug details and links may be kept restricted until a majority of users are updated with a fix. We will also retain restrictions if the bug exists in a third-party library that other projects similarly depend on, but haven’t yet fixed,” the company said.

Users can manually look for the latest update on their Chrome by going to the About Chrome settings on their devices. The browser, however, gets updated automatically soon after its latest version is rolled out from the company side.
