Virat Kohli’s 9-Month-Old Daughter Gets – Latest news headlines

Threats were issued against the daughter of Virat Kohli and Anuskha Sharma

New Delhi:

The Delhi Commission for Women has issued a notice to Delhi Police over online rape threats to the daughter of Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli and Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma.

The way the nine-month-old was threatened on Twitter is “very shameful”, DCW Chairperson Swati Maliwal tweeted, urging the police to share information regarding the investigation in the case.

“The team has made us proud thousands of times, why this silliness in defeat,” Ms Maliwal said.

The DCW has sought information, including a copy of the FIR (first information report), details of the accused identified and arrested, and also a detailed “action taken report”, in the matter.

“If no accused has been arrested, please provide the details of steps taken by Delhi Police to arrest the accused,” the notice – sent today – said.

The police have been asked to provide the requested information by November 8.

Hateful comments against Virat Kohli’s daughter started appearing on social media after India’s loss to Pakistan in the T20 World Cup in Dubai. Mr Kohli was also attacked after he spoke against the incessant trolling of his teammate, Mohammed Shami, who was targeted over his religion after the loss.

Attacking someone over their religion is the most pathetic thing one can do as a human. That is a very sacred and personal thing. People take out their frustration because they have no understanding of what we do,” Virat Kohli told reporters during a pre-match press conference on the eve of the Super 12 encounter against New Zealand.

Latest News Today – WTC Final: Virat Kohli Shows Off His Dance Moves As Fans

Virat Kohli enjoyed himself on the field as he grooved to some old-school Bhangra on Day 3 of the World Test Championship final against New Zealand at The Ageas Bowl in Southampton. Shortly after New Zealand came out to bat in the second session of the day, Kohli, who was fielding in the slips during the ninth over of the innings was seen dancing to the sound of dhols being played by the fans at the stadium. Kohli, who is known for his crowd-pleasing antics when on the field, tried to get the fans behind the team as India attempt to win the first-ever WTC final.

Kohli was one of India’s top scorers in their first innings even as India were bowled out for 217, courtesy of a menacing spell of 5 for 31 by Kyle Jamieson.

Kohli made 44 while his deputy Ajinkya Rahane top-scored for India with 49 runs as India could add only 71 runs to their overnight total of 146 for 3.

His antics aside, Kohli’s tactics in the field finally bore fruit for India in the third session when Ravichandran Ashwin dismissed New Zealand opener Tom Latham for 30 to give India their first wicket after an opening stand of 70 runs.

The World Test Championship final was scheduled to be played from June 18 to 22 with June 23 as a reserve day.

The first day was washed out due to rain and New Zealand chose to field after winning the toss on Day 2.

Latest News Today – WTC Final: Behind-The-Scenes Pics From Virat Kohli, Kane

Virat Kohli and Kane Williamson will face off in the WTC final starting on Friday.© Twitter

Virat Kohli and Kane Williamson have developed a close friendship over the last few years, as the India captain confirmed in his press conference ahead of the World Test Championship (WTC) final against New Zealand. However, he was quick to point out that all friendships are left outside the pitch and it is purely professional for both teams when they step out to contest for the WTC crown. However, the camaraderie was on display on the eve of the final as the two captains had their customary photo-shoot before the match.

New Zealand Cricket took to Twitter to share some behind-the-scenes pictures of the two captains.

“Photo time for the skippers means it’s nearly time to play,” they captioned the post on Twitter.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) also shared a picture of Kohli and Williamson.

The two teams are set to face off after two years of gruelling competition. India and New Zealand both faced snags in their journey to the summit clash, but finished above the rest of the competition.

New Zealand, in fact, are the only team to have won a series against India during the WTC cycle.

India, earlier on Thursday, announced their playing XI for the match.

India have opted to field both Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja to complement their three-man pace attack.

Ishant Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami have been picked among the quicks, with Mohammed Siraj and Umesh Yadav missing out.

Latest News Today – Suryakumar Yadav Opens Up On “Fierce” Clash With Virat

Suryakumar Yadav has made a mark in the cricketing world with his brilliant form in limited overs formats in the last few years, and was rewarded with an international debut in India’s last T20 International (T20I) series, against England. However, his batting aside, he managed to grab eyeballs when he was involved in a heated moment with India captain Virat Kohli during Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020. Speaking about the incident – which happened in Abu Dhabi during the league stage match between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore — during a live chat on Mumbai Indians’ Instagram handle, the batsman said that he was happy that Kohli was having a go at him, as it meant that the RCB skipper wanted to get him out.

Kohli kept chattering to Suryakumar through MI’s chase, but he had kept his cool and did not respond at the time, staying unbeaten as his team romped to victory.

He went on to say that as he was in the zone during the match and determined to finish the game for his team, he was too focused to be distracted by anything.

Suryakumar Yadav said that Kohli is “electrifying” on the pitch and goes hard at any batsman up against him.

“It’s not just me, he goes hard at any batsman batting against him,” Suryakumar Yadav said about Kohli.

“I was happy that he sledged me,” he said. “It means even Kohli knew that if I bat on, we will win the match and if they got my wicket, then maybe they could slow us down and create a chance to win.”

Suryakumar went on to hit an unbeaten 79 as MI chased down 165 to beat RCB in the match.

He said that it was only heated up in the moment and they were normal after the match. He also added that he has a huge amount of respect for Virat Kohli.

Later in the live chat, he was asked about his fiercest rivalry in cricket, and said that while it wasn’t exactly a rivalry, but the little clash with Kohli could be counted as one of his fiercest moments.

“I am a cool and calm customer on the pitch, so I don’t get into these rivalries. But there was that moment in Abu Dhabi, so I guess that can go down as one,” he said.

Latest News Today – IND vs ENG: Virat Kohli “Surprised” At Shardul Thakur

India captain Virat Kohli on Sunday said he was surprised that Shardul Thakur was not adjudged man-of-the-match for the third and final ODI against England and Bhuvneshwar Kumar missed the man-of-the-series honours despite strong performances. Sam Curran was handed the man-of-the match award for his heroic 83-ball 95 not out in a lost cause as India won the third ODI by seven runs to clinch the three-match series 2-1. Shardul took four wickets for 67 runs but conceded 18 runs in the 47th over to give England a shot at victory.

England top-order batsman Jonny Bairstow got the man-of-the-series award for his 219 runs in the three games, including a hundred to top the run-scorers’ chart.

Bhuvneshwar took six wickets in the series at an economy rate of 4.65 and an average of 22.50.

“I’m surprised Shardul wasn’t the man of the match, and Bhuvi wasn’t the man of the series. A lot of credit to them for bowling so well in adverse conditions,” Kohli said at the post-match presentation, wrapping up series victories across formats against the tourists.

India dropped at least four catches, including that of Curran, at crucial junctures to pile on the pressure but Kohli sought to play it down.

“It’s most disappointing for the guy who drops the catch, but as much as you get disappointed, catches get put down and sometimes they cost you. That is a part of the game.

“There’s no lack of intent, and our body language was outstanding. Eventually we got over the line,” he said.

Asked about the intensity shown by both the teams in the white-ball leg, Kohli said, “When the top-two teams battle each other, we’ll get exciting games. We knew England are not going to throw in the towel, and Sam played a really good innings to keep them in the hunt.

“However, our bowlers picked up wickets, and it moved from us finishing it off to them getting over the line before Hardik (Pandya) and Nattu (T Natarajan) pulled it back. Prasidh (Krishna) and Krunal (Pandya) were impressive. “But death overs batting was extremely good, despite the early wickets, and if the top three can get a hundred, then we can get 370s and 380s later.

“This win has been sweet because it’s against the top team in the world, and we’re looking forward to the IPL. It’s been an amazing season, series, and this was a great way to finish it off.”

Asked about two months inside a bio-secure bubble during this England tour, he said, “Scheduling needs to be looked at in future, since playing in bubbles will be difficult, and everyone can’t have the same mental capacity all the time. But I’m looking forward to the IPL for now.”

IND vs ENG: After Virat Kohli Gets Out For A Duck, | Sidnaz Blog

IND vs ENG: Virat Kohli was dismissed on a duck by Adil Rashid in the 1st T20I.© AFP

India captain Virat Kohli got out on a duck as England beat the hosts convincingly in the 1st T20 International to take a 1-0 lead in the five-match series. Having been rapped on the gloves by a Jofra Archer bouncer in the previous over, Kohli tried to take on Adil Rashid by lofting him inside-out, but ended up lobbing the ball up to Chris Jordan at mid-off, who took a simple catch. Uttarakhand Police came up with a witty tweet soon after his dismissal, citing the India captain’s example to advise readers against rash driving.

The Uttarakhand Police tweeted a picture of the India captain walking off the pitch, with his helmet still on, with a message in Hindi that reads “Just wearing a helmet is not enough. It’s imperative to drive with total concentration, or you can also get out on zero like Kohli.”

India suffered a batting collapse, and Shreyas Iyer had to play a rescue act, with his half-century anchoring them to a respectable total of 124.

England comfortably chased down the target in 15.3 overs, with eight wickets to spare.

Jason Roy led the chase, smashing 49 off 32 deliveries. Roy hit four boundaries and three sixes, before being trapped leg-before by Washington Sundar.

However, it was too late by the time he departed and Jonny Bairstow and Dawid Malan saw England home as they took a 1-0 lead in the series.

IND vs ENG: Virat Kohli Interviews “Man Of The Moment” | Sidnaz Blog

For off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin the game of cricket is everything, without which he says he feels literally lost. On Tuesday Ashwin revealed how he worked on his skills during the Covid-induced lockdown and touched upon how he was not desperate to succeed in the recent tour of Australia where India managed to win the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against all odds. “Look, I think, the whole pandemic thing and the way we were shut off, I was thinking what is going to happen? If you take this game away from me, I am literally lost. Even when I am not playing some formats of the game, I am always switching the TV on like watching the preview and what is happening,” Ashwin told India skipper Virat Kohli in a video posted on the official website of BCCI.

“I thought the game is not on anymore, I was reflecting upon myself and how I can learn from people. In the past when I have toured abroad, it was more of desperation to prove others wrong. But this time when I went to Australia, it was about proving to myself what I am capable of.”

The off-spinner also highlighted how the likes of Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane have never been desperate to perform overseas and how they always looks to better their skills.

“Over the years, I have noticed how some players are really balanced when they perform, the likes of you and Jinx (Ajinkya Rahane). When you (Kohli) went back to England in 2018, you wanted to do well but really within yourself and that was what I wanted to embrace,” said Ashwin.

Ashwin’s remarks came as India achieved an emphatic 317-run win against England in the second Test of the ongoing four-match series.

As a result, the series stands levelled at 1-1 and Virat Kohli-led side has also reached the second spot in World Test Championship (WTC) standings.

The off-spinner took an eight-wicket haul in the second Test, along with his 106-run knock in the second innings as India registered an emphatic win at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.

In the second innings, Ashwin shared a crucial 96-run partnership with Kohli and this helped the hosts to post a healthy target in front of England.

When Kohli asked Ashwin about giving such a performance in front of his home crowd, he replied: “I do not know, for the first time in my career, I feel blank. When I went out to bat yesterday, I was feeling blank, I came and asked you can I start sweeping? That’s exactly how I am feeling, zero emotions and feelings inside, rarely I find myself like this.

“You know me very well, my mind is always ticking. For a change, it is really blank. That partnership between us really set the tone and I am so pleased for us.

“I had asked you about wanting to sweep, if you had asked me to take some time, then I might have acted differently.”

Kohli also touched upon the partnership with Ashwin and he said: “We had a special partnership in the second innings, the game was tentatively poised, Ash came out and he changed the momentum of the whole game.”

India remains in contention to make the final of the ICC World Test Championship after this win.

The victory in Chennai on Tuesday has lifted India to the second position with 69.7 percentage points on the points table but they cannot afford to lose another match as they need to win 2-1 or 3-1 to qualify for the final of the maiden edition of the Championship.

England, who led the table after winning the opening Test, have slipped to the fourth spot with 67.0 percentage points.

They can still qualify, but for that, they must win both remaining matches of the series against India.

Amul shared this image. (courtesy amul_india)

  • Anushka and Virat named their daughter Vamika
  • Amul shared a topical dedicated to the star couple and their daughter
  • “Nation’s heart throb,” read the text on the post

New Delhi:

The only thing that is more cute than Anushka Sharma’s picture with her cricketer husband Virat Kohli and their daughter Vamika is the cartoon version of the photograph, shared by (no points for guessing) dairy brand Amul. On Monday, Anushka Sharma shared the first picture of her baby girl and revealed that they have named her Vamika. Two days later, Amul shared its utterly, butterly post, featuring the family of three and it totally has out heart. From Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli’s expressions to the accuracy of their outfits, everything is on point. “Vamika… Baddi hokar yummy kha,” read the text on the post. “Nation’s heart throb,” read the caption on the post. Amul accompanied the picture with this text: “Virushka name their daughter.”

See the post here:

Now check out the original. Anushka Sharma, sharing a happy picture, wrote: “We have lived together with love, presence and gratitude as a way of life but this little one, Vamika has taken it to a whole new level! Tears, laughter, worry, bliss – emotions that have been experienced in a span of minutes sometimes! Sleep is elusive but our hearts are so full. Thanking you all for your wishes, prayers and good energy.” Virat Kohli’s comment on Anushka’s post read, “My whole world in one frame.”

This is the post we are referring to:

Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli welcomed a baby girl last month. Virat Kohli shared the big news on Twitter and he wrote: “We are thrilled to share with you that we have been blessed with a baby girl this afternoon. We thank you all for your love, prayers and good wishes. Anushka and the baby are both healthy and we are feeling beyond blessed to start this new chapter of our lives. We hope that you can respect our privacy at this time.” The couple met during the shoot of a shampoo commercial and they got married in Tuscany, Italy in 2017.
