Asaduddin Owaisi: Will BJP deny tickets to MLAs with more | Live Newspaper Hyderabad

[ad_1]

HYDERABAD: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi on Saturday claimed that there were 150 MLAs in Uttar Pradesh who have more than two children. He challenged UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath to state clearly if BJP will deny tickets to such legislators in ensuing polls to t state assembly.
Speaking to reporters, Owaisi demanded the Centre launch an inquiry into the Pegasus or at least allow a debate in Parliament over the issue. “When inquiries are being done on the Pegasus-phone hacking issue in Israel and France, why is the Modi-government scared to even constitute a commission to inquire into it?” Owaisi questioned.
The AIMIM president also lashed out at PM Narendra Modi for his perceived silence on the issue of “China sitting in Indian territory.” “Why doesn’t the Modi government lead a delegation of MPs and journalists to Depsang, Gogra, Hot Spring and Demchok to show that these are still under control. But the reality is that the Chinese soldiers continue to be in control of our territory…,” Owaisi alleged.
The AIMIM president also lambasted the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh and Centre for allegedly neglecting the health sector.
“There are four lakh acutely malnourished children in UP, severe shortage of doctors and specialists in public, community health centres and sub-centres. The Modi-government had filed an affidavit in Supreme Court in 2020 stating international experience shows that any coercion to have a certain number of children is counter productive and leads to demographic distortions,” he said.
Owaisi also demanded the Centre give jobs to crores who lost jobs due to the alleged mismanagement of the second wave of Covid-19.

'Ayodhya A City By And For Every Indian': PM At Meet With Yogi Adityanath

PM Modi and Yogi Adityanath held a meeting to discuss Ayodhya development projects.

New Delhi/Lucknow:

Ayodhya should manifest the “finest of our traditions and the best of our developmental transformations” Prime Minister Narendra Modi said today during his virtual meeting with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to review development projects in the temple town.

This is their second meeting this month; earlier this month, the Chief Minister was in the national capital for meetings with PM Modi and top BJP leaders, including Amit Shah and party chief JP Nadda amid reports of dissent in the party in his state.

During today’s meeting, Yodi Adityanath presented plans for Ayodhya’s development, including better roads, infrastructure, a railway station and an airport. PM Modi described Ayodhya as a city that is “etched in the cultural consciousness of every Indian”, government sources said after the meeting.

“Ayodhya is both spiritual and sublime. The human ethos of this city must be matched by futuristic infrastructure, which is beneficial for everyone including tourists and pilgrims,” the Prime Minister reportedly said, adding that that developmental works in the town will continue in the foreseeable future.

He termed Ayodhya as a “city by and for every Indian”.

The meeting between the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister took place days after allegations emerged against the Ayodhya Ram Temple Trust of an illicit land deal.

Ahead of the groundbreaking ceremony for the proposed Ram temple in Ayodhya last year, the Uttar Pradesh government had announced several projects to promote the temple town as a big religious tourism destination. The plan for an airport for announced by Yogi Adityanath in 2018. As of now, Ayodhya has an airstrip for the use of VIPs. But the government has announced that it will be converted into an airport.

The mega upgrade plan also include upgradation of the town’s water supply, the bus station and the police barracks.

Latest News Today – Yogi Adityanath At PM Modi’s Residence For Meeting Amid

[ad_1]

Yogi Adityanath will meet PM for first time today since the review meet about a week ago. (File)

New Delhi:

Amid tumult in Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence in Delhi for a key meeting as murmurs grow against him in the party and his government’s handling of the pandemic.

On Thursday, Yogi Adityanath held a 90-minute long meeting with Home Minister Amit Shah. With less than a year left for UP to elect its next government, the BJP has stepped up measures to iron out differences within the party.

The party is not looking at replacing Yogi Adityanath, sources have said, but other changes are likely.

Today’s meeting comes nearly a week after senior BJP leader BK Santosh led a central mission to Uttar Pradesh to take feedback and carry out a review in meetings with ministers, MLAs, MPs and the Chief Minister too.

A senior leader of the BJP’s ideological mentor Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Dattatreya Hosbole, had recommended the feedback session after reportedly sensing disenchantment in the cadre during his visit.

The inaccessibility of Yogi Adityanath to MPs and MLAs in the state and poor handling of the pandemic have led to the differences coming out in the open.

Jitin Prasada, the BJP’s latest high-profile recruit, is likely to play a key role in the UP reshuffle. The 47-year-old leader was the Congress’s top Brahmin face in UP and Brahmins make up about 13 per cent of UP’s voters. He quit his party of two decades on Wednesday, triggering very sharp reactions from Congress veterans such as Kapil Sibal.

Former bureaucrat AK Sharma, known to be among PM Modi’s aides, may be given an important role in the UP government, sources have suggested.

Latest News Today – Yogi Adityanath Visits Amit Shah, To Meet PM Tomorrow

[ad_1]

Yogi Adityanath is likely to meet PM Modi tomorrow. (File photo)

Highlights

  • This is his first meeting with top leaders since UP BJP turnmoil began
  • Yogi Adityanath’s meeting with PM, JP Nadda likely tomorrow
  • His visit comes a day after Congress’s Jitin Prasada joined the BJP

New Delhi:

Yogi Adityanath is in Delhi for meetings with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other top BJP leaders amid reports of dissent in Uttar Pradesh. This is his first face-time with the Delhi leadership since turmoil started in the UP BJP last month, with a section flagging criticism of the Yogi Adityanath government’s handling of Covid and the impact it may have on the party in polls next year.

The Chief Minister began his two-day visit with a meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah this afternoon. He will meet PM Modi and BJP chief JP Nadda tomorrow.

The visit comes a day after the BJP scored a high-profile recruit from the Congress, Jitin Prasada, a top Brahmin face in UP.

Mr Prasada is expected to play a key role in the BJP’s UP reset ahead of the state election, especially in correcting the optics of a government perceived by a section of the state’s Brahmins as being pro-Thakur (Yogi Adityanath’s caste).

With the elections less than a year away, many MPs and MLAs have gone public with their adverse assessment of their own government’s Covid management.

Last week, senior BJP leader BK Santosh led a central mission to Uttar Pradesh to take feedback and carry out a review in meetings with ministers, MLAs, MPs and the Chief Minister too. A senior leader of the BJP’s ideological mentor Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Dattatreya Hosbole, had recommended the feedback session after reportedly sensing disenchantment in the cadre during his visit.

The BJP has shut down any talk of replacing Yogi Adityanath. He will lead the party in the UP polls but other changes are likely, sources have said.

The Chief Minister is expected to bring in new ministers in his cabinet with caste and regional equations in mind, the sources say.

Another significant addition to the UP government could be former bureaucrat AK Sharma, known to be among PM Modi’s trusted aides.

Yogi Adityanath’s talks with central leaders are likely to focus on this exercise.

The BJP is eager to minimize the damage done to its government in UP, which was seen to be caught unprepared by the deadly second surge of Covid. Visuals of bodies floating in the Ganga river or buried in shallow graves caused shock and anger. The party’s MLAs and MPs also went public with their complaints against their own government.

Latest News Today – What BJP’s UP In-Charge Radha Mohan Singh Said After

[ad_1]

What BJP's UP In-Charge Said After Meeting Governor Amid Shake-Up Talk

BJP leader Radha Mohan Singh met UP Governor Anandiben Patel in Lucknow today.

Highlights

  • Radha Mohan Singh met UP Governor Anandiben Patel in Lucknow today
  • The meeting took place amid reports of unrest within the state BJP
  • Mr Singh was given charge of the party’s state unit last year

Lucknow:

Senior BJP leader Radha Mohan Singh met UP Governor Anandiben Patel in Lucknow today — days after chairing a review meeting with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, his ministers and party leaders. Asked if he had informed the Governor about an expansion in the Yogi Adityanath cabinet, Mr Singh said while berths were available in the government, it was upto the Chief Minister to expand his cabinet.

Dubbing his meeting with the UP Governor a “courtesy call”, Mr Singh said, “Since I became the in-charge of the state, I have not met the Governor”. Mr Singh was given charge of the party’s state unit in November last year.

The 30-minute meeting raised eyebrows in the backdrop of reports of unrest within the state BJP about Yogi Adityanath continuing in the top post. While the BJP made it clear that the Chief Minister will stay, for now, the timing of the meeting puzzled many.

Mr Singh was in Lucknow since Monday and left for Delhi on Wednesday with party colleague BL Santosh. Sources in the BJP said the leaders had carried out an appraisal of Yogi Adityanath’s performance as Chief Minister, especially during the recent Covid surge in the state.

Asked about the Chief Minister today, Mr Singh said Yogi Adityanath was doing a “fine job”. “Everyone believes in his mettle. Everyone knows that he has done the work of Corona recently,” he added.

“The UP government and the BJP organisation is functioning very well… It is the strongest party unit and the most popular government across the country,” he added.

There have been murmurs in the party against Yogi Adityanath, with several leaders, in private, expressing concern about the Chief Minister’s handling of the Covid crisis. The rampage of the virus through the rural areas — as indicated by the thousands of bodies found buried on the banks of Ganga and floating down the river — may take a toll on the hustings too, some leaders fear. There is less than a year to go for the state elections.

Over the weekend, the BJP trashed speculation about a change in leadership and sources said the party will contest the state polls under Yogi Adityanath.

But there were indications about a change in cabinet. Former bureaucrat AK Sharma – a close aide of Prime Minister Narendra Modi — may be given an important role in the state government, sources said.

BJP chief JP Nadda is likely to visit UP next month to oversee efforts to repair the party’s structure and functioning.

Latest News Today – Oxygen Shortage In Bareilly, Union Minister Santosh

[ad_1]

Oxygen Shortage In Bareilly, Union Minister Writes To Yogi Adityanath

Yogi Adityanath recently asserted there was no oxygen shortage in any UP Covid hospital(FILE)

Lucknow:

Union Minister Santosh Gangwar has written to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, flagging a series of concerns including shortage of oxygen and black marketing of ventilators and other medical equipment in his constituency Bareilly — about 250 km from state capital Lucknow. His complaints come barely a fortnight after the Chief Minister denied any scarcity of oxygen in the state’s hospitals and promised strong action, including seizure of property, against people “spreading rumours”.

There is a scarcity of oxygen in Bareilly, which he represents in parliament, Mr Gangwar said. Ventilators and other medical equipment are being sold in black. People in the Health department do not pick up phones, creating difficulty for Covid patients, he added.

The Union minister also sought that oxygen plants be installed in the hospitals of Bareilly and a simplification in the process of referring Covid patients to hospital.

Asked about the letter, Mr Gangwar told reporters that the complaints and suggestions had come from the people, and he had only passed it on to the Chief Minister.

“I think the points they raised were valid and these can be investigated and decided on,” he said. “I think oxygen is just a temporary problem. It will get solved. But there should be no black marketing,” he added.

Yogi Adityanath had recently asserted that there was no shortage of oxygen in any Covid hospital of the state, private or government. “Every infected patient does not need oxygen,” he had told reporters late last month, seeking cooperation to spread awareness about this.

At the time, he also asked officials to take action under the National Security Act and seize the properties of people who spread “rumours” and “propaganda”.

He, however, admitted that black marketing and hoarding were problems, “which will be tackled with a heavy hand”.

Congress’s Priyanka Gandhi Vadra had called him out over his remarks.

“Mr. Chief Minister, there is an oxygen emergency in the entire state,” she had tweeted. “If you want to file a case against me, seize my property, do so. But for God’s sake recognise the seriousness of the situation and get down to saving people’s lives immediately,” her tweet in Hindi read.

Over the last 24 hours, 736 new Covid cases have been logged in Bareilly, the number of active cases is 6,387.

Bengal Assembly Election: Shocking – Nusrat Jahan’s | Sidnaz Blog

[ad_1]

'Shocking': Nusrat Jahan's Attack As Yogi Adityanath Campaigns In Bengal

Trinamool MP Nusrat Jahan said she she couldn’t find the words to describe the “horror” (File)

Kolkata/New Delhi:

Trinamool MP Nusrat Jahan on Tuesday afternoon attacked Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath over the increasing number of violent crimes against women in his state.

She tweeted an NDTV report of an incident from UP’s Hathras – a man accused of sexually assaulting a young woman allegedly shot her father dead – and demanded to know why Yogi Adityanath and the BJP prioritised the safety of the people of that state over elections in Bengal.

“SHOCKING! Cannot find the words to describe the horror that BJP-ruled Uttar Pradesh has turned into! WHY couldn’t Yogi Adityanath prioritize the safety & security of this family? Is Bengal elections more important to BJP?” she asked.

The tweet was posted shortly before Yogi Adityanath – whose government has been fiercely criticised for failing to protect women – campaigned for the BJP in Bengal’s Malda district.

The controversial BJP leader hurled a litany of charges at Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, chief among which was that the state had descended into lawlessness and anarchy.

“There is anarchy in Bengal… the citizens are pained. Security is a huge concern. We need to ensure change in Bengal…” Yogi Adityanath told voters.

Trinamool MPs were quick to point out what they saw as irony in the UP Chief Minister’s remark

Cabinet minister Firhad Hakim and MP Dr Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar both tweeted videos of the Hathras incident with the hashtag “BJP Hatao, Beti Bachao” – a sarcastic reference to one of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s flagship programmes – “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao“.

“Count of dreadful incidents from BJP-ruled UP is unending! The people of UP are suffering as the state of law and order is in shackles, yet Yogi Adityanath is in Bengal??” Dr Dastidar tweeted.

“I fail to understand how the safety & security of this lady’s family could not be prioritized for a CM but Bengal polls? Certainly! Curious if Bengal BJP leaders imagine Mr Yogi Adityanath to be the “protector” of women’s security and rights in Bengal!” Mr Hakim, who is also Kolkata Mayor, said.

UP’s Hathras was also where, in September last year, a 20-year-old Dalit woman was allegedly gangraped by four men from the so-called upper caste.

The horrific and savage assault on the young woman – she died from her injuries in Delhi’s AIIMS – triggered outrage across the country, and put Yogi Adityanath and UP Police square in the spotlight.

Last month a 16-year-old Dalit girl in UP’s Mahoba was allegedly gangraped and murdered.

Rahul Gandhi, Yogi Adityanath Same When It Comes To… | Sidnaz Blog

[ad_1]

'Rahul Gandhi, Yogi Adityanath Same When It Comes To...': Pinarayi Vijayan

Pinarayi Vijayan countered Rahul Gandhi and Yogi Adityanath’s allegations against Kerala government.

Thiruvananthapuram:

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Thursday lashed out at Congress leader and Wayanad parliamentarian Rahul Gandhi as well as Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, days after the two had hit out at the Left government in Kerala during their respective campaigns in the state.

“Wayayand MP Rahul Gandhi and Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath may have different perspectives about Kerala but have the same feelings against the Left. They are united in that,” Pinarayi Vijayan said.

“Rahul Gandhi came to Kerala and made some unusual interventions. He drove a tractor for farmers, swam for fishermen in the sea, ignoring the protests in other parts of India… Anyway, the large-heartedness of Rahul Gandhi is to be appreciated,” Chief Minister added.

Hitting out at the Congress for its anti-farmer policies since the 1990s, alleging it “pushed farmers to suicide in India”, Pinarayi Vijayan said Rahul Gandhi should be apologising to farmers.

“The blood of lakhs of farmers who died is on Congress… Rahul Gandhi must apologies unconditionally to farmers on behalf of Congress,” the Chief Minister added.

Rahul Gandhi had led a tractor rally in his parliamentary constituency of Wayanad on Monday and addressed a farmer’s gathering after that. Later, in Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday, Rahul Gandhi had hit out at the Left government on several issues alleging “lack of jobs for the youth”, and “fishermen’s livelihood being destroyed”, among other issues.

“Youngsters in Kerala are wondering why they can’t get jobs. It is a dynamic state with brilliant youngsters. Left front government said they will make Kerala perfect. My question is – perfect for whom? Perfect for the people of Kerala or its own party? If they are one of them, carry their flag, every job is for them,” Rahul Gandhi had said, making references to groups of protesting rank holders outside the secretariat.

Pinarayi Vijayan during his press briefing also hit out at Yogi Adityanath, who had inaugurated the BJP state-wide rally underway in Kerala currently. “Yogi Adityanath said Kerala is behind in everything. He said young people are going abroad because they don’t have jobs here. 15 per cent of migrant workers in Kerala are from Uttar Pradesh and they are given insurance and other benefits. Uttar Pradesh CM said that the Kerala government is trying to make people fight against each other. In these five years, Kerala has not seen any communal violence. But what is the situation in Uttar Pradesh? We have seen it. Crimes against women are the highest in Uttar Pradesh,” Mr Vijayan said.

“Kerala’s population is 3.5 crore. 1.10 crore Covid tests have been done in Kerala. But for Uttar Pradesh, a state with 6 times more population than Kerala – Covid tests have crossed only 3 crore. Kerala’s test per million is double of Uttar Pradesh. Kerala is an example to the country when it comes to limiting deaths,” Pinarayi Vijayan added.

Opposition’s Ram Temple Anger | Sidnaz Blog

<!–

Yogi Adityanath praised the Prime Minister’s efforts to help Indian farmers.

Bareilly (Uttar Pradesh):

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath today hit out at the opposition parties for fuelling unrest in the country using farmers, and handed out a somewhat curious logic as to why they were doing this: unhappiness over the Ram temple’s construction in Ayodhya.

“This is the envy of those people who do not like that Bharat is becoming Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat. I saw that a dharna is on. First, they said there should be an MSP (minimum support price) guarantee,” the Chief Minister said, speaking at a farmer outreach programme in western UP’s Bareilly district.

“The government said there is no question of taking back MSP. Then why are people misleading (farmers)? They are angry. Those who cannot tolerate that a grand Ram temple is being built in Ayodhya…are angry because Prime Minister Narendra Modi has even kickstarted the construction of a grand Ram temple,” Mr Adityanath said.

The Chief Minister also praised the Prime Minister’s “unprecedented efforts” to help Indian farmers and, curiously, hit out at another unlikely opponent: communism.

Newsbeep

Referring to those allegedly conspiring to create “disorder in the country”, he said, “The theory of communism will never hold true. That if you repeat a lie a hundred times, it will become true. There are those who do not want a change in the lives of farmers.”

Farmers from western Uttar Pradesh, along with thousands of those from Punjab and Haryana, have been protesting for the past three weeks along the borders of Delhi, demanding the repeal of India’s new farm laws.

Yogi Adityanath On Shiv Sena’a | Sidnaz Blog

<!–

The ruling Shiv Sena strongly objected to Yogi Adityanath’s outreach to filmmakers (File)

Mumbai:

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has responded to the Shiv Sena’s charge that his Wednesday meeting with Bollywood personalities was part of a plan to poach the Mumbai film industry for an upcoming film city near Noida. He said there is an “open competition” between states and those who can provide better facilities will win investments.

“We are not snatching or hindering anyone’s investments. No one can take anything along. It is not like a purse which gets taken away. This is an open competition. One who can give a safe atmosphere, better facilities – and especially social security – in which one can work without discrimination will get investments,” he was quoted as saying by news agency PTI.

Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday visited Mumbai to meet film personalities seeking suggestions for the ambitious UP film city project.

The Chief Minister, who had met superstar Akshay Kumar on Tuesday, today met filmmakers Boney Kapoor, Manmohan Shetty, Jayantilal Gada, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Anil Sharma, Honey Trehan and Umesh Shukla.  Actors Arjun Rampal, Satish Kaushik and Ravi Kishan also attended the meeting.

The ruling Shiv Sena strongly objected to Yogi Adityanath’s outreach to filmmakers. Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said he will not let anyone snatch away the film industry.

“Some people are coming today and will meet you, urging you invest in their states. But they are not aware of our magnetic power. It is so powerful that no industries from Maharashtra will go to their state,” he said.

Newsbeep

Mr Thackeray said Maharashtra was not jealous of the progress of any other state. “Let them progress by competing. But if someone attempts to forcibly take away (our) businesses to their states, then I will not allow it to happen”.

The UP CM denied the Shiv Sena’s charge.

“We are creating something new. Why are you getting concerned? We are giving a new world class infrastructure to all. Hence, everybody will have to grow up, widen thinking; better facilities will have to be given. One who is able to do that will get the people,” he said.

Earlier this year, Yogi Adityanath had announced a film city bigger than that of Mumbai’s. The UP government has identified a 1,000-acre plot near the upcoming Jewar airport for the facility.
