HYDERABAD: Congress MPs from Telangana N Uttam Kumar Reddy and Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Saturday charged chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao-led TRS government of bungling on Krishna river water sharing issue.
They said this while speaking to media persons after attending the Nalgonda Zilla Parishad general body meeting. Uttam found fault with Cm KCR for not completing the irrigation projects on Krishna river started by the previous Congress government in the combined state.
“It is due to the incompetence and wrong priorities of CM KCR that the central government issued a notification and took the management of irrigation projects on both Krishna and Godavari rivers under its control,” Uttam alleged.
Listing out the irrigation projects started by the previous Congress governments in Nalgonda districts, Uttam said Dindiand AMRP lift irrigation projects and SLBC tunnel scheme were listed as “unapproved projects” by the central government in its notification.
Komatireddy Venkat Reddy charged the TRS government for not extending crop insurance scheme for the farmers now. “We (both Congress MPs) are trying to ensure implementation of widening of Hyderabad-Vijayawada national highway into six-lanes, and also get other schemes and sanctions for Nalgonda and Telangana state from the central government,” Venkat Reddy added.
