HYDERABAD: The Telangana Mahila Congress has charged BJP government at the Centre and TRS government in state of playing with the lives of middle class and poorer sections of the society by increasing the prices of LPG domestic gas, petrol and diesel.
Mahila congress leaders organised “vanta varpu,” a protest programme against the skyrocketing prices of gas and fuel. While the price of domestic LPG cylinder has crossed Rs 870 per refill, the prices of petrol are touching nearly Rs 100 per litre, said Mahila Congress leaders MLA D Anasuya, Indira Shobhan, Sunitha Rao, B Sandhta Reddy, Ravali Reddy and Bhavani Reddy.
Telangana Congress president N Uttam Kumar Reddy and other senior leaders also participated in the protest organised by Mahila congress.
Uttam said both prime Minister Narendra Modi and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao should be blamed for the rise in prices of LPG gas, petrol and diesel. “Poor people are not able to afford such a huge price of cooking gas. Some of the neighbouring states have announced subsidies on LPG cylinders. However, CM KCR has not made any such announcement. The Congress would continue its fight against the rise in fuel and LPG prices until the prices are rolled back,” Uttam said.
