HYDERABAD: A man was arrested from Telangana‘s Vikarabad district for allegedly killing two donkeys and injuring one.
Krishna, was said to have been irked by the braying of the donkeys which had been left near his fields by some shepherds who had come from Narayanpet district.
“We have booked a case against the accused and produced him in the court,” Kulkacherla sub-inspector Vittal Reddy told TOI on Thursday.
He said Krishna was booked under IPC Section 429 which carries a punishment up to five years’ imprisonment for killing or maiming an animal.
A case has also been filed under The Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.
A group of migrant shepherds from Renipatla village in Maddur mandal brought the cattle to Cheruvumundili Thanda in Vikarabad district for grazing.
The shepherds also brought along three donkeys which carried provisions and utensils for cooking, clothes and other essentials.
When the donkeys started braying, an irritated Krishna, who works in a farmland close by, allegedly brought a knife and stabbed all the three donkeys.
